Meet our new CEO and pork sector council chair at the Pig & Poultry Fair

Wednesday, 1 May 2024

You can meet our new CEO and pork sector council chair at the British Pig & Poultry Fair when it returns later this month at the NEC in Birmingham.

We will be showcasing our commitment to the pork sector through a series of theatre discussions and demonstrations at the two-day event (1516 May) which is a must-attend for any pig producer.

There will be an exhibitors’ stand where you can meet our CEO, Graham Wilkinson, on the first day and get to know recently appointed sector chair Glen Nimmo, as well as chat with other AHDB representatives about what we do for levy payers and the industry.

Stand sessions include:

  • Answering your export queries
  • Our work on the environment
  • School cooking demonstration by Ladies in Pigs

On both days we will be conducting three theatre sessions – panel discussions led by industry experts.

You will have the opportunity to delve into the industry topics that matter to you:

  • Inspiring younger consumers to eat pork
  • Understanding the African swine fever (ASF) contingency plan
  • Reducing the environmental impact of pig farming on soil, water and slurry

Each session will provide valuable insights and opportunities for you to pose questions directly to the speakers, who will be back at the AHDB stand afterwards to chat further.

AHDB Head of Engagement for Pork, Dr Charlotte Evans, said:

"We are thrilled to once again be part of the Pig & Poultry Fair. It provides a fantastic platform for those working in the industry to come together.

“We are dedicated to supporting the pig sector through a range of activities, which are underpinned by great collaborations.

"The show is an excellent opportunity for us to connect with producers and stakeholders, to get them up to speed on key industry challenges and activity, share information and ideas and support the great work going on in the sector.

"This year's event promises to be both informative and inspiring, with a diverse range of topics and activities designed to benefit all attendees. We look forward to seeing you there.”
